What is Rising Damp and How is it Fixed ?
Rising Damp happens when "DPC" (Damp Proof Course) fails. It usually fails due to the age of the property and gets worse when external ground moisture is high. The pressure pushes passed the old failed damp course and up the wall. The other issue is it leaves salt deposits that fluffs up the internal decoration and plaster work.
The Damp Fix
Remove the old plaster, spray with anti sulphate to kill the salt in the brick work, spray tanking slurry, apply render protection coatings. When completed the area is ready for Plastering full height ready for decoration.
